About Me
I bring a wide range of experience in the mental health and social work field, with over 10 years of education and hands-on involvement supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families. My professional journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Criminology, Forensic Studies, and Women and Gender Studies. Currently, I am completing my graduate degree in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at Capella University as an intern.
Throughout my training and professional experiences, I have worked in a variety of settings, including crisis intervention, case management, early childhood education programs, and child advocacy services. I previously worked with the Lenoir County Head Start Program and completed an internship with The Carousel Center, a child advocacy agency in North Carolina. I also hold IRB certification to participate in research studies and QMHP certification for mental health practice.
These experiences have allowed me to support individuals with mental health disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders, while deepening my passion for advocacy and community-centered care. I strive to create a compassionate, non-judgmental, and supportive space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build self-awareness, and move toward positive change.
My clinical interests include working with children and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, family dysfunction, crisis, emotional eating, and trauma-related concerns, as well as individuals navigating multicultural and minority issues, women’s issues, and gender/LGBTQ+ related matters.
I anticipate graduating in September 2026 and look forward to growing alongside my clients as we work together toward meaningful and lasting change.
