About Me
My name is Kamiah Jackson and I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) intern at Happy Place Therapeutics, where I am developing my clinical skills and gaining experience in supporting individuals, children, and families on their journey toward healing and wellness. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Norfolk State University and am currently pursuing my MSW at Capella University, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027.
My passion for social work is rooted in a deep desire to help children and families heal, grow, and thrive. I believe every child has inherent worth, potential, and the capacity for healing when provided with a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. I am especially passionate about working with children and families who are navigating emotional, behavioral, relational, and life challenges.
Following the completion of my MSW, I aspire to practice Christian psychotherapy with children and families, integrating evidence-based therapeutic approaches with faith when appropriate and welcomed by the client. My goal is to create a compassionate, safe, and nonjudgmental space where individuals and families can explore their experiences, strengthen their relationships, discover hope, and move toward healing.
Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy expressing myself through singing, poetry, and praise dancing. These creative outlets are meaningful parts of my life and allow me to express my faith, emotions, and love for God. I believe creativity can be a powerful source of connection, encouragement, and healing.
At the heart of my work is a genuine passion for children, healing, faith, and helping others discover hope. I am committed to continuing my professional growth while serving others with empathy, compassion, and purpose.
